This assembly explains some of the neuroscience behind emotions and how these can be managed. It has lots of diagrams to help explain the brains function and a short link to a clip that uses animation to show how emotions are integrated into our thinking. Good for linking into growth mindset as the brain is a muscle and, through the application of effort, can grow and work quicker and faster.

An assembly or presentation about Halloween that includes facts and figures from the UK and USA. Also includes: - A look at the traditions and history of Halloween - Ways children can stay safe - Reference to stories, notes about Halloween (on slide notes) and links to further information to help you present it how you wish.

An assembly that can be aimed at pupils from KS2 upwards. Explores the idea of friendship through real life stories and the many different ways it can manifest. Themes explored include friendship in times of extremes (POW camp), Olympic athletes and also historical using a story from ancient Greece. Links to further information, explanations and clips can be found in the note section of the slides.

An assembly that looks at the effects of stress on young people. Aimed at KS3/4 but can easily be amended. - Slides on NSPCC study (with link in notes) - How stress shows itself externally and internally - Ways to combat stress

An assembly based around Edith Cavell and her story during WWI. It also looks at British nurses during the Great War. There is reference to poetry. It also makes a nice change to have the focus on a woman and her heroics.

An assembly that explores the idea of being the first humans to set up a colony on Mars. It covers what NASA is doing to prepare (a short clip on a website is included) and looks at the preparation of astronauts and potential living conditions on the red planet. References to the Mars One programme is also included. Would suit all ages as can be adapted and requires interaction with the children in the audience through questioning.

An assembly suitable for key stages 2-4 that explores how people judge each other on areas such as appearance and were they work. It also looks at the variety of interests and tastes that exist in the UK. The assembly is quite interactive and requires some participation from the audience in terms of suggestions for what the images mean to them.

An assembly that looks at consideration of other's views with links to British Values and activities in school. It also explores the theme through Harper Lee's 'To Kill a Mockingbird' and has a growth mindset challenge to set pupils for the week.

An assembly about prayer and how different beliefs practice it. I have taken the angle of discussing similarities and differences and introduced the idea of atheist prayer (a thunk). There is a link to a clip from a Christian discussing why prayer is important to them. Notes and knowledge are included in the notes section of the slides. This could also be used as a presentation in a lesson.

2 assemblies included - 1) The first assembly tells the story of the main events of Holy Week. The angle I have taken is to try and get students to think about some of the feelings and emotions people may have felt when Jesus was in Jerusalem. 2) The second assembly focuses on how Easter has developed over time, its origins and also explores what it means to people in modern times. The quiz is a simple multiple choice double sided sheet that can be completed in class afterwards or as a standalone activity.
